A place is missing in “Where are you?”

Type its name into the search field. We look it up in OpenStreetMap and Foursquare within 150 m. If it isn’t there, tap “„…“ vorschlagen” (suggest). The app is in German for now, so menu names are given in German. New places are only visible to your friends at first. Once 3 different people have posted there (or the place shows up in OpenStreetMap or Foursquare), everyone can see it.

Who sees my moments?

“Freunde” (friends): only your confirmed friends. “Alle” (everyone): all Dotty users for 24 hours, after that only you and your friends. Moments at suggested places are always friends-only.

Block or report someone

Open the person’s profile and tap “•••” → “Blockieren” (block) or “Melden” (report). To report a moment, tap “•••” → “Moment melden”. People you’ve blocked are listed under Einstellungen (settings) → Blockierte Nutzer.

Delete a moment

Open the moment and tap “•••” → “Moment löschen”. It disappears from the map and the feed right away.

I don’t get notifications

Check in iOS Settings → Dotty → Notifications that they’re allowed. The weekly recap arrives on Sundays at 7 pm (Berlin time).

Delete your account

In the app under Einstellungen (settings) → Konto löschen. Your profile, photos, moments, comments, messages and friendships are deleted immediately.
